What?!? Factory Turbo??

Ha ha ha....... no title, it's a parts car, it's not even worth scrap because no legit scrapper will buy it with no title. Run away, don't even bother with it, you will find it a nightmare even with some lame Georgia or Missouri quick title. Other states are hip to the two or three states that sell these titles. You will pull your hair out by time it's all done, unless there's 6.5 in parts on it that you want. There's too many C3's out there in the 4-6K range that are 'Titled' ....

Burning Brakes
Someone willing to take a risk however might do ok. Considering what I'm seeing C3s go for in Dallas lately though, this car was over priced with all the issues a buyer would have to deal with.

You guys are mucking up what the ad really is saying,
It says the car is dads and dad passes away...lets assume that is true since you guys have all kinds of other colorful possibilities you are assuming...lets assume what it says is true.
So dad is dead, if dad has no will and no other kin wouldn't car go to ad poster? ( son, or whatever that is kin ) isn't that a case that you go to the DMV with title and show you are next of kin etc etc,
I just saw this same thing happen a few months back with a kit car, the window went and got the title from DMV....this 78 could be a legal car.
I didn't say the seller didn't come off as something of a dolt....that is another story.

Possible, depends on state and other factors. My personal knowledge in a situation like this. Many states allow selling an "antique car" on a bill of sale, buyer applies for an antique title based on "title missing". However when state runs the VIN and it shows up with a legal title in any state then it has to be probated in court to get a clear title(time and fees). But if there are judgements against owner or title (i.e. IRS, bank notes etc.) or other "family" claims... now it becomes a real mess. Of course worst case if VIN pops up on stolen vehicle report no matter how old... you just lost the car and money.

Pace Car
That is definately a 78 pace car. It has the wrong wheels and no 78's came with a turbo
I don't see anything else wrong with it in this picture, however I agree that it looks like a scam

If it's not, it's a decent effort to make a knockoff.
