Default body work

It seems the front of the quarter panel is seperating from the door jam if that is what you call it. What is the best way to repair it. Specifics please.

There is no repair advice available for the problem as yet shown in your clear, in focus photographs. Said problem will only get worse over time until clear, in focus photographs appear here for all of us to see and appreciate. The panel may eventually fall off of its own accord unless those of us who like to help members who ask questions accompanied by clear in focus photographs can see what the he!! you're talking about.

Post a pic. That's an appearance area where bonding compound from the joint was supposed to have been smoothed out for seam filling purposes.

I'm not convinced it's separating, but that is the area I was referencing. That seam was supposed to be smoothed. A little filler might be all you need.

That area will need to have the glue cleaned out, and rebonded with a structural adhesive. If the panel releases more as you clean it up you will have to devise a clamping system of some sort to hold the panel in place while the glue dries.

Best fix would be epoxy resin and mat... Next, probably a strong adhesive like MarineTex or Evercoat 870... If it's not separating, filler would be okay as well... Link is to Stinger's thread where he glassed his in (at bottom of the page)...

Epoxy. Tape will probably hold it in place while the epoxy sets up. Match it with the trailing edge of the door.
