Default New owner, 1978 Vette

I'm a proud new owner of a 1978 Vette. She's got a 350 out of a 1970 Vette, 4 speed, fresh 2011 Jet Stream Blue Corvette paint, and original saffron interior. I'm very happy, and so far there's only a few minor things that need working; the latch that allows the seat backs to pivot is broken on the passenger side, turn signal solenoids are bad, the overhead light is out, and most unfortunately...she has the stock exhaust! She's too quiet. She runs great though, doesn't pull to either side, and looks even better! I'm so excited. 19 years old, and I already own one of my favorite cars.

She needed a bit of gas on the way home, so I figured I'd snap a couple pics as she was getting filled up

Congrats! Welcome to the addiction. 78 is a great year. Mine is an 80. I also have a 4speed. I hope you keep this car for a long time. Post pics as you work on her.

Thanks! I'm ecstatic. I'm hoping to get all the minor stuff squared away so I can work on the fun stuff, like exhaust and engine work. I forgot to include that the seller included a new L82 front spoiler, an unopened very nice stereo deck, and a new set of interior t top panels. Altogether, I was very pleased.

Nice ride!!! Post the numbers on the stamp pad of that engine... I'm pretty sure 1970 had no EGR?

Total I paid $7000. He was asking 10k, but he was getting out of the navy, and needed to sell her. Overall, I feel like I got a killer deal, and am very happy with the car. Basically no rust, either. Already fixed the turn signals.

Congrat on your new '78. Look real good.
I bought mine at 21, 23 years ago and still enjoy it like the first day.
