Default Anyone Running 5.5 Backspace

I wanted to get some Coy C5 wheels 18X9.5 with 5" BS with 285/40 for rear and 18X8 4" BS 245/45 front in Black Chrome for my 75. When I talked to Coy they said they wouldn't have 5" bs for a while and offered 5.5 BS, even these are 4 to 8 weeks out. I am putting on offset trailing arms, smart struts and 360 LB composite spring. Anyone running 5.5 having rubbing issues. They suggested spacers but I am not sure about spacers.

My setup is almost 'zactly what you posted. See post #'s 27, 41, and 43. There are pictures to 'splain what you're looking at:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c3-g...-pictures.html

Hope that helps and let me know if you're looking for more info. FWIW: I waited over a year before mine were delivered but I was not in a hurry, at the time. Just a little nervous and that was later resolved between the vendor and myself prior to wheel delivery.

I wish you good luck, whatever choice(s) you make.

Is that with or without relocating the parking brake bracket?

I have the 5.0 bs, but dustup has the 5.5 and he mentioned some slight kisses on the wheel well, but not really an issue. Each one of these cars is just a tad different.
Yes, Coy, seems to run their orders from their Asian manufacturers in 6-8 wk increments. So waiting is not unusual with them.

Hey Eddie, was looking at the link you posted from your other post, and wow, did it bring back memories! I made that same run from Denver(Lowry AFB, now closed) to Alamogordo/El Paso. Was stationed at Lowry, then Holloman AFB in Alamogordo/White Sands Missle Range, had a girl in Las Crucas and friends in El Paso, bought my '71 vert(Ontario Orange) in '83 drove it all around NM,TX, and CO. Wow, the RR track shot reminded me of seeing those Santa Fe and Rio Grand trains, mashing the motor to race them some, and the engineer's would blow their horn and wave. We would go out in the desert sometimes and camp, same in the mountains. Cruising the Trans Mountain Highway was a blast! Drove the Vette around in White Sands National Monument, watched the honeys in their bikinis. LOL! One honey wanted a ride, got to know her better. One time she was riding on the deck lid, and I got pulled over by the US Park Ranger in White Sands, he wrote me a ticket because she was riding on the deck lid. I just said "we'll be more careful", paid the ticket. I was doing work on the car as I went along. I still have it, getting a new paint job right now. Lived out there 10 yrs, and still miss it sometimes. When I get my car back from paint, I'm going to take my wife in the Vette on a road trip to NM, especially Cloudcroft. Really enjoyed your pics and road trip story. Your car is nice!
