Default Black Mirrors

Do any of you know where to find some black mirrors, or where I could get some painted black that the paint won't chip off, or how to do that myself?

I want to do this to the 1975 style mirrors, so any type in that range.

No. I suppose I should have stated that better. I don't want them to be chrome, I want the chrome to be black. Thanks.

That sounds great. Who would perform this process?

I believe they might.....send them an email to find out.

It looks like they also do anodizing, which might be another option to consider.

I would suggest
1-remove the housing and mirrors

2- if the mirrors are glued check out this thread for glass removal (Fixed my flopping outside mirrors today)

3- Find a reputable coating shop in your area and have them powder coated.........several options for the black finish.....gloss to flat.

4-reinstall........

Easy method would be take the car to a body shop and tell them you want Black mirrors......

Easy self method would be to mask off the mirror, cover the rest of the car with plastic..... sand or rough up the mirror with a scotch guard pad and paint it yourself.......glass down....door open.....would also recommend covering the opening to the car so you don't get over spray in the car while you paint the mirror housing. For sure cover all of the door..........this would be a tedious and detail job but a fun diy project.....
