Default Vette was running funny....

My 68 was running a little funny, just not right before I parked it for the night. The next day it was idling very rough and I popped the hood to see if I could figure out what was wrong. I found out that the new, one year old, less than a thousand mile, Vacuum hose filter had come apart in the middle! I looked at how it was held together and saw only a small amount of what looked like model cement on the outer edge. My new vacuum hoses were the heavier replacement ones and the pressure from them being curved, and engine heat, separated the vacuum filter where it snaps together in the middle. I used liquid model cement to glue the styrene halves back together. I just wanted to let people know that this can happen. Lou.

Thanks for the heads up, dude, every little bit helps. Glad you were able to use a little ingenuity to fix your problem.

Keep the shiny side up!

There is a little tuft of gauze sandwiched between the halves. One carb backfire renders it toast. Ask me how I know.

Who was the manufacturer/vendor for the filter? They should be informed of this.

Mike Ward, It was in a vacuum hose kit by one of our venders and my favorite one. I will have to call them tomorrow, to let them know about it. There can't be too many people making this part. That I know of, there was the AC version and I am guessing, only this repro. Lou.
