I have a pet peeve with power cables and cig. lighter adapters hanging in the interior and getting in the way. So, this was this afternoon's project.
Started with one of these that I had in the '02 Vert. center console power outlet.
Tore it apart and soldered pos. and neg. leads that connected to a generic two prong connector. The other side of the connector was tapped into a switched 12v source and a ground.
Drilled a 3/4" hole in the back corner of the glove box liner and mounted. Used a little hot glue on the back side to keep it from turning.
End result:
Now the gps power cord neatly routes into the glove compartment with only a minimum amount of court exposed.
