Default Help please.. Trans fluid leak

OK so I go to shake down the C3 today for a show that we have in the morning... Well I find that under the car is very wet for some reason..
I move the car and its trans fluid... I clean up the floor and try and look around and see whats leaking...thinking it may be a seal.. I dont see any fluid under the seal.... I tighten up the bolts on the pan to make sure I dont have a lose one, nothing...
Then I notice a drip of fluid on my speed o cable.... I grab it and wiggle it..I try to tighten it and it wont go.... ? ? What am I doing wrong.. ? ?

Can I lose close to a qt of fluid from this area ? ?
How do you tighten it up ? ? Am I missing something ?

There's a seal inside there that probably needs replaced. Not too hard of a job, but I had to go to a transmission shop to find one.

That's one of the two styles
That O-ring on the outside can be replaced, it seals the bullet to the trans.
There (I think it's the same) is also a seal (o-ring) inside the end ring of the speedo cable just above the thread there. I've got the other style and I know it's there, not sure about yours.
And I think there is a small seal that fits inside the bullet that seals the actual gear to the inside of the bullet
Replace all seals

Check the fork and make sure it's the right way around, it should press the bullet in slightly

The trans guy I've talked to tells me if you park nose down on a decent slope (he said back wheels on a set of ramps) you can pull the gear without loosing hardly any fluid

The seal that seals the gear shaft is probably the one that is leaking but replacing all of them is the best bet. It's not expensive and it's easy to do while you're in there. The cable screws onto the bullet. That little metal tab with the bolt holds the bullet in. The bullet holds the gear in. Replace the o-ring and seal and put it back together.

If it's just the speedocable it's an easy fix, one bolt

I removed mine flat, lost about a cup of fluid or so. The trans guy here says to put the rear up about 10" (ramps) and you'll hardly loose anything

Take off the cable, check for the o-ring inside or stuck on the bullet
Take off that clamp piece
Pull out the bullet (go easy, it may be stuck a little but if you start prying you'll put dents / scores in it and affect the seals
Replace all the seals / o-rings inside and out. I've heard from several people to put 2 seals on the inside where the actual gear is. Not sure how I feel about that one though.
Check the gear and look for any step along the shaft that shows wear, if you can see or feel a change in the diameter, get a new one
Wipe a little trans fluid on the seals to lubricate for re-assembly
Done is done

The one on the shifter shaft is a little more involved,
