Default Convertible Pics.

Does anyone have (or could take) pictures of a 73 convertible with the top down showing the trunk area? In particular how accessible the trunk is and how much room there is from the floor to the folded top. Actual measurements would be great.

Trying to help a member with a sound system and would like to be able to visualize what I'm working with (His is mid-frameup rebuild).

Thanks.
Jarrod

There are no trunks on any C3s.

You could try Google > Images and something about the rear storage area of convertibles. This one came off Google:

Decklid is raised and the rear bow of the folding top is up and to the left.

I'd like to see a picture of one of these trunks as well.

To me, an area behind the seats where you store things is a trunk (or a boot as we civilized Commonwealth members call it), regardless of how you access it.

Thanks for that pic, give's me an idea at least. Is that slightly raised lip where the top sits when it's fully down?

Suit yourself, but on a C3 forum, the term "trunk" has no meaning. You will also not want to use the terms "boot" or "windscreen". I may be missing something here, but lower the top on your buddy's 73 and see how the top stores.

Mike--

It's for my '73 and the top is in the storage for a couple of more months... We've just been asking nicely for anyone out there with a Vert to take a couple of quick shots of the rear compartment (trunk) with the top folded down...

Here's all I got now, sorry...

I have asked WMD for some help in identifying some components to do "something similar" to what we saw in the rear compartment area on the "quarter million dollar Vette build (rest in peace!!!)"... Top was not installed on this Vette and probably wouldn't fit, but I'm going for something similar to this and try to fit it under a folded down top... We're just trying to ascertain how "little room" is left in the rear compartment when the top is folded down... Usually not a picture that gets posted as I've searched extensively...

Hopefully we can get through all the terminology issues, and try to help a few Vette enthusiasts see a couple of pics... Not a big deal as I can wait a few months before I re-install my top and take the pictures myself... Just asking for a little assist... Also, pretty sure everyone knew what he meant by "trunk"... Most on the forum know "you" have the terminology down... How 'bout a little break for those that don't but are still trying to "lend a hand" to folks that have asked for help...

Thanks for straightening us out...

Gdh was very kind and took some pics of his 72 with the top in various positions. Greatly appreciated Greg.

Thanks for the input guys.

OK Rogman,
I'll try this one. It is a 1974 but that should not matter. I see about 10" from the folded top to the carpetted surface. The "box" is a Blaupunkt 8" sub-woofer.

(Hmmm, time to bring out the vacuum cleaner.)

Where did you get those seat bumpers on the front of the deck lid? Are they stock? Mine does not have those and when my seats are all the way back hit the deck lid if you lean back.

My '73 has them, so I'd guess they were stock... At least for '73 and '74...

When you drive with the top down as I do, belly-button fluff road equivalents tend to accumulate back there! I hope to drive tomorrow weather permitting and then the rug shampoo and Shop-Vac comes out. If the OP needs more pics I have no problem.

They are stock.

Here is another look. But I have the seats shimmed/adjusted so they will never hit the rear deck.

Damn, you guys are brutal! If I were Jarrod, I would tell you to stick it where the sun don't shine. In your Trunk

Some people are **** about the correct term for any given area, part or function of a vehicle. If they don't have the intelligence to understand what I'm referencing nor the courtesy to educate me on the proper name, then I don't have the time nor inclination to engage them in a pointless exchange.

Internet trolls who believe themselves superior are amusing to me, though I do feel some pity for them.

Thanks to the people who did post up some pics, they've been very helpful in giving me a visual picture of what Rogman has to work with. I shouldn't need anything further.

Hope I was of assistance. Although a 1974, not a 1973. If you do need more in terms of measurements do let me know.
