there are many options to cut down inside cabin temperatures.
you can also buy a cheap alternate product @ Lowes called "Reflectix"
and another option is Lizard skin - not cheap.
if you have not installed heatercore shut-off valves,
that would be the first thing to do to reduce cabin temp.

I used reflectix to cut the heat. I put down hushmat on the bare pans, then reflectix. One for sound, one for heat. Together they do a great job.

Before doing anything, first identify the source of the heat. If it is coming in through the vents, adding insulation to the floor will not accomplish your goal. If it is heat coming from the floor, console area, then specifically address that area. There are different approaches to solving these different issues. Be more specific to your heat source and you will get more specific and helpful suggestions. There are many options to reducing heat, but only half may be most helpful to resolving your specific issue.

Another less expensive option to the floor is a product called Frost King. Last I remember, I bought some at Home Depot. It is 1/8 inch thick and comes in 12" X 15 ft rolls. It is a foam, peel and stick material made for insulating metal ducts. If your heat is from a broken heater valve, or bad vent seals, this won't help much.

Here is what I did. It worked well and truly cut down the heat and sound but next time I might go with the product that Eastwood sells. With side pipes and a all black car the heat/sound was unbearable. Good luck with the vette.

I think this is what you are asking about. This stuff works great!

This is the info that comes to us with it:

If heat reduction is your main concern, this option is for you. Made from technologically advanced ceramic cloth backed by reinforced foil. Heat Barrier Kits will reduce interior compartment temperatures by up to 50%! Thermal rated to 2300°. Only 1/8" thick, so your carpet will fit perfectly. You may combine the heat barrier kit with any of the other underlayment options shown. Each piece is clearly labeled for easy installation. Choose front only or a full set.
