Default hood release cables

after reading about all the broken hood release cables i thought that i should put some thing on in case the factory one ever breaks.i found picture hanging braided wire,9 feet for $1.99 i hope that i never need them.

well it says 50 pounds test .if that is not enough for a back up fxxxxt.

thats 50 lbs, hanging on it, not grabbing and pulling to open your hood, I wouldnt have posted if I hadnt tried the picture wire.

well i pulled on it and it does not take that much to pop the hood.it is in case the factory cable breaks.i hope to never use it .

Just changed out my hood cable. Best $39.99 I have ever spent.

Used to have problems with hood sticking shut. I'd have to fiddle with the lever. Now everything is smooth. No gunk in sleeve. Also that 40-year old stretched-out wire is gone.

my cable is good but the peace of mind that i wont have a problem is worth alot .these guys that have had problems would have paid $40.00 happly.

keep the old cable and loop it thru the latch,
then just let dangle in the engine compartment, where "you" can reach it.
now you have a backup cable incase the new one breaks.
