Default This windshield wiper chatter sucks - help

Now i know most people dont drive their c3's in the rain but i am sure some do like me anyways am i the only one whose wipers grab and chatter across the window? This is really fn..... annoying it has done this for the last 14 years. I have tried many different wiper blades have gone through a few windshields i have put teflon tape on the joints at the motor and i just replaced the entire motor and yes that annoying chatter is still there, is it just a flawed design the whole assembly, what am i missing here? I usually squirt rain x on the windshield before i drive, this slicks up the windshield and the wipers run nice and smooth for about 5 minutes and then back to that infernal chatter? I sure would like to fix this a i currently live in the nw where it rains constantly. Any ideas? Anyway to modify or fix this, is there too much spring pressure on the wiper arms?

Is there some sort of new wiper out there that doesnt grab the glass like the traditional rubber ones? Everything is as tight as it can be now and it is still chattering, i am going to get a brand new set of wipers, probably rainx brand though i dont think it will matter, i will post the results

Stop waxing your windshield. Sounds odd but I had chatter on my pickup until I quit with the wax....

I just spent 60 bucks on a pair of piaa silicone blades and so far so good, i was just little concerned about the whole rubber on wet glass issue, the piaas are even supposed to lay a water beading coat of silicone on the glass, so far they look very promising, if they continue to work they will be well worth the money on my daily driver, kind of annoying to be driving down the freeway kicked back in my heated c6 seats listening to sat radio with that racket going on, has rained the last 15 days in a row here in the lovely nw so i am sure i will get to really put them to the test soon, so far just pouring water on windshield, will keep posted

I drive in the rain all the time. Since i only put on new wipers about every 5 years, when they would start to chatter i use a new razor blade on the window to remove whatever is there, clean the blade with wd40.

As stated before wax will do it also. I also use windex and vinegar to clean the window . I also had chatter in the blades because the wiper motor was on its way out, lots of play.
