Default What is this '70 worth?

I'm looking at an original owner 1970 350/300 coupe with 47k miles. Everything is original with exception of carburetor and exhaust. Basic car with no air, ps, or pb. Does have leather. I looked at it and drove it. Still has original paint that is cracked everywhere. Not sure I would be happy leaving it that way. Yellow with black leather. Any thoughts? Asking $25k, I'm thinking it is around a $15k - $18k car due to the options and paint. I know everything being original adds, but just not sure how much - especially due to the condition of the paint. Does need tires, but not sure what else it might need.

Do you have any pictures to post.. also you need to get in to the car and look at the frame there can be rust hiding that would affect the price.. pay close attention to the birdcage area.

...I'll bet there is quite a bit more that's "not original" than "is original" other than what you noted.

...42yr old radiator? Shocks? Belts & hoses? Brake/Fuel lines/hoses? Heater core? Spark plugs/wires/cap/rotor? Calipers?

...I have a very original 49K mile '74 coupe in very nice original condition, but I've had to replace most of what I've mentioned above.

...the price range you mention is more realistic for the car without seeing pics.

The shocks were replaced along with normal wear items (lines, plugs, brakes). Radiator is original. The frame looks pretty good, without poking around on it with a screwdriver. I added a few pictures to "My Corvette Photos". Couldn't figure out how to get them on here. Have more if interested. Interior is in very good condition and is original. Appreciate the feedback.

If you're looking for a collectible car you can't change color or options without lowering value. Are the leather seats original? What's the interior code? A good paint job is expensive, guessing $5K and up depending on what's found once work starts. If this car is truly original, your price seems reasonable, assuming there are no serious issues such as rust which will need to be dealt with.

There's no images in your "My Corvette Photos"....

Try PhotoBucket.com. Very easy to use and one you've uploaded a pic, there will be link codes on the right of the page when viewing a specific photo. Click "IMG Code" and it will copy it, the just right-click paste it to this thread.

truly original owner selling the car? title in his name showing purchase date of 1970?

if true, then that itself is a big premium. many people will pay a big markup for a 1 owner car, regardless of the condition.

yes, original owner - traded in a 68 for the 70. I saw the paper work - it is all there. Original leather seats - very good condition.

probably then it will sell for 25K, someone will pay that for a one owner car. but if that does not matter to you then look for another car for 25K and you will get one in great condition..
