Here's the reply I got from GM Parts Direct, inquiring about availability of any sort of replacement steering coupler (rag joint) for a 1979 Corvette:
Hi Chuck,
I am sorry, the part number you requested has been discontinued and is no longer available from GM. You will have to find an aftermarket source for this part.
Thank you,
F Norton

So..... anyone know which aftermarket suppliers currently carry the *right* part? Not an upside-down version or simple repair kit?
The ones I see appear to have the steering shaft index 180* off.

I just bought and installed one for my 65 from Paragon. It's reasonably correct and fit fine. They should have one for your car. GM Parts only cater to newer cars.
