When it was held in Bloomington I would always make the drive from Indiana in my '77 and once when it was in Springfield, but haven't made it back since.

Never been...and can't say I understand that entirely....just saying it doesn't sound like somewhere I would "fit in". Oh, there is no such place. Sounds like it would make me want things that will never be possible to have. Hence the comment about "poor folks". That's just human nature to want things ya can't have! Oh well.....

sure, easy one. they go so they can justify to their wives that the tens of thousands of dollars they spent on NOS parts and overpriced labor were worth it...

The show has changed over the years. The old show was a swap meet where you bought parts to build/restore the Vette that you wanted. The enthusiast back then built their car with their own hands.

The current show has changed to auctions for buying/selling Vettes. The enthusiast now only uses their hands to write the check to purchase the Vette that they want.

Hopefully, with the change in ownership, the show will start to move back to the hands on basis of the old show. Time will tell.

Tom...

I went from '92-2006. Many reasons already posted why I quit going. Enjoyed the Survivors the most, then the Road Tours, then swap & parts, then cars for sale. Liked Pheasant Run venue, just hated the drive/major construction/tolls/major traffic/gridlock/etc. around Chicago. Swap started getting smaller, no Silver Saulte(for awhile), less cars for sale, etc. Maybe I'll attend Champaign in 2014 after it's been there once(2013)and see how the reviews go.

Honestly, Carlisle's been my favorite since 1987 and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Well Im back, had a good time, the constuction was bad, was expecting more swap meet, vendors, cars for sale and people, but I thought Pheasant Run was a really nice place for the show, guess its hard to compare to Carlisle which is my favorite, gonna give Champaign a try next year. David

Yeah, I had a pretty good time too. I actually thought there were a few more vendors than last year (outside anyway), but I don't know the actual numbers. I bought a few end of the day swap items that I was able to get good deals on. Had a good time watching the Gold (and Silver) awards. I agree with David's comments above, Pheasant Run was really nice, especially with all the dry weather this year. The weather was about as good as it can be, if you like it hot, which I do. Last year was kind of chilly and they didn't sell that many Lemonade drinks. This year the lemonade stand was a popular place. It'll be interesting how the show goes next year compared to Pheasant Run. It's double the time for me to go to Champaign, so I'll have to see how bad I really want to go.

Went again this year. Disappointing. Fewer vendors, fewer cars. Probably won't do this again. Too expensive. Lot of crap not even related to vettes.

I wouldn't really say disappointing. A lot fewer cars this year then last
agree. Expensive? I found 2, 4 day passes on Craigs List for $10.00 each! As my wife said, "the golf course setting for the cars was
beautiful.

When we needed a break, it was nice to walk over and watch the Mecum auction. From what I noticed, it was a pretty good time to buy.
Some very nice cars, at some fairly realistic prices,...if there,s such a thing. Saw a 71 LT-1 convertible sell for a little over 30K. In excellent
condition! I think it had a full body off restoration a few years back.

Less vendors, sure, have to blame the internet for that.
Really going to miss it when it moves. Since it was soooo close
to us in Lombard.

I myself enjoyed the show. Spoke with Benchmark winners who were happy to give advice. By parking East of the grounds (free) I had less than a 2 minute wait, to get in. I came to view the Vettes new and old and enjoyed myself. I thought my drives down to Champaign Il were done with. (daughter just Graduated), But I will make the drive next year.

By the way I like Cigars.
