71-82 Eavp case sealant
Now that I have the evaporator case apart and cleaned up, gaskets ordered..
I found two types of sealant used..a black simi-hard tar like rope material and a gummy gray plummers putty substance. The same stuff was on the fire wall. I do not see a sealant sold seperatly.
What is normally used?
As long as it seals, and can come apart if needed would be the guide.

I used the black rope putty stuff from 3M. The auto parts places carry it. It will come back apart if needed.
p.s. be sure to get the drain cover for the bottom and the clip to hold it. I got mine at Paragon.
