Help buying my first c3
http://www.countryclassiccars.com/ca...spcars_288.htm
It appears to be missing the front bumper, I was wondering how expensive it would be to replace. It says all original 2 owner, which I'm guessing means original trans and motor and only two people owned it? I'll call them tomorrow and find out. The picture appears to have some newer parts under the hood, but seems a lot more original than the other one I was looking at. Would this one be a better bet?
Know what you want the car for. Racer, DD, cruiser, etc looks like you are looking for a summer cruiser.
Know what year range you prefer, stick vs auto, etc
If you are not knowledgable bring somebody who is. Where to find? Look for local Vette clubs, meet & greet, may cost you a few $$ or a lunch/supper and beverage of choice.
Ask for documentation on repairs, maint, upgrades, etc. See if there is a trend. Be thorough on your inspection, ask questions, apply "due diligence" here. It's your $$$.
First C3 you say? Don't buy on emotion. We get it, it's a Vette. Take your time and find a car that fits your parameters.
I would stay away from the first Vette you listed. If you are going to buy a C3, there will be some cost incurred, some minor some not so minor
they are 30+ years old.Lot's of guys on here have a wealth of knowledge. If you look at a car and have a concern take a pic and post it here and someone will be able to give some sound info.
Good luck.
