Default Half Shafts

Guys, I'm back for help once again. I'm in the process of replacing the u-joints on the half shafts and need advice/suggestions on how to remove these things? These things beat me from left to right today trying to take them off. I managed to get one cap pushed out, but wasn't successful at removing the cap to remove the u-joint all the way out. Any advice/tips would help. Thank you.

Take them to a mechanic with a press before you destroy them .
It's not a big job if you have the equipment .

Push the joint all the way to one side as far as you can.

Grab the cap that has been pushed partially out (their toast so vise-grips) and work it the rest of the way out

Then press the u-joint out the other side as far as possible and then you can remove the actual joint and stick something through to pop the cap out the rest of the way

If your taking them out of the wheel flange, make sure it's supported on a plate so you don't bend them

Get a socket that is big enough for the cap to fall onto but will sit on the shoulder of the yoke, then get a smaller socket that will sit in the middle of the other cap. Put it in a vise and squeeze it out. I did a thousand of them that way when I was a kid. Now I have a 50 ton press but the vise will do just as good of a job.
