V0905WH is the code for the engine assembly plant, assembly date and application.
V is the Flint engine plant.
09 is September.
05 is the 5th day of the month.
WH is probably a 69 350/255 with a 4 bbl carb, manual trans and A.I.R.; in a C15, 25 or 35 series truck.
WH was also a code used for 1966 truck 283's and a 68 truck 307, but the 3932386 block was only used in 69, and in 74-75.
Based on this, I'm guessing that the engine you have is a 350 out of a 69 Chevy truck, in your 79 Corvette.
gbvette62, thanks for the 'useful' reply. I knew someone was going to slap me due to the way I worded the question. Guess I stepped right into that!
Anyway, I received this car after my Dad passed away a few years ago and it has just been sitting in my garage. I'm starting to work on it now and just want to know what I'm working on but couldn't find that 'second' number anywhere.
It does have a 4 bbl but it is new.
The only way to know if it is in fact a 350 with 2/4 bolt mains is to drop the pan and measure the stroke right?

Sure did!
See if you can find the casting date on the block. This will narrow down the choices of what the engine started out in life as but given the info so far, it's most likely a 350 from a '69 truck.
