Default Exact emblem location

I need to know the exact measurements for the location of the front and rear emblems on a 1982 corvette. I've tried asking this before and everyone says its in the aim but I tried that a couple times before posting. So that's not helpful at all. If you find it in the aim the page # would be great. If anyone could measure where there's is, that would be great. Thanks

exactly the same as 81....

You'll love this.. except for the rear one... The rear emblem is on the gas door there is not a choice where it falls. The rear letter kit is the same... But the nose emblem is next to impossible to find the measurements for...

For 1980, instructions for mounting the front emblem are in UPC B01-B12 sheet 59 & 60. For the rear, UPC E01-E12 sheet 10. For 1982 the UPC and sheet should be roughly similar.

The instructions are on page 126 but it assumes you have the holes in the surround panel. The reference note states: "Refer to UPC "OA" FOR EMBLEM INSTALLATION & TESTING PROCEDURE" OA is just a standard installation sheet with no dimensions, it just shows the standard "fastening" methods.

Just checked the 80 book and the same thing. The upper surround for the 1980-1982 cars came to the assembly plant with the holes already drilled for the emblem.

The exception on this for the 80 was the L-82 emblem.. and that page has the dimensions.

The left (drivers side) pin hole is 12.5" from the hood seam ... when measured straight down the nose ... and 4 5/8" from the headlight seam ...

Correct. Since the holes were already in the panel, assembly plant personnel did not need the placement dimensions. That's why the figures are not in the AIM.

I would say "centered."

Just make sure you leave room for the GT and RT emblems under it and you should be good.

Holden..

You gotta have a huge printer.... LOL.. just kidding..

On the script, you mean on the back bumper cover. I have an original bumper cover I may be able to measure for you... Again it's a drilled from the factory thing...

But let me see what I can do on Thursday.

Holden. Sorry but no. I had two people on vacation last week and just flat out forgot.
If you can hang in there I'll get this on Monday.

Holden.. I went to measure the one on the wall in my shop.. it's a display unit with working lights.... But it is a repro fiberglass bumper and the measurement is not accurate.

I think I have an original urethane one in the other building and I will check this tomorrow.. I'll be there early in the day. I hope I do...
