Default HELP--need a/c control part

I took out the a/c control from the console in my 74 vette...

lost a tiny part that holds the cable on the a/c dial..its what holds the string on the wheel when you roll the ac dial..its the little small black 'doughnut' piece.....anyone got an old unit lying around?

I replaced my stock 72 unit with the Vintage Air system, which included an upgrade to the original controller. I don't know if my 72 and your 74 controllers are the same, but if so, I may have what you need. I'll dig through my old pieces and if I have what you're asking for, I'll put up a pic so you can verify. I'll take a look this evening when I get home.

I didn't see his post. I'm sorry.

Yes... his controller will have all the parts needed and will work just fine. The difference is the lens in regards to the mechanical portion of the controller. With and and Without air are different too... But the springs, rollers, ropes, wheels and all are the same.

Be careful with the needles too.. they dry out and become brittle. If they do this, you can align them in place and glue them to the string if needed. When we couldn't get the complete units we had to be creative in how we repaired the original ones.

If nothing else.. you have a good pic now to show you how it goes back too..

For those building the old units.. here is the old write up on them. http://willcoxcorvette.com/repairand...lp.php?hID=189

Willcox..
