I burned up another set of plug wires on the weekend. Moved them to fill the oil and didn't move them back before driving. I'm tired of doing this so will finally install the stock guides and doglegs so I won't do this again.
Since I have an MSD box, I was going to go with the MSD 8.5 MM wires but there are a number of part numbers that look awfully similar. Can anyone confirm that they installed part 35659 with the stock routing? Other suggestions are welcome too!
The motor is a 73 L48 style with stock ehaust manifolds. I'm pretty sure that the MSD distributor will clear the stock chrome cover but I haven't tried yet.
From reading the list of applications for those wires, I question if they'll work correctly.
Summit shows them for use across all line of Chevrolet in the 70's. By then, only the Corvette was using "ram horn" manifolds, and routing the wires against the block. Chevelles, Camaros, Impalas, etc., were using the log type manifolds, and used much shorter wires, that ran up over the valve covers.
I'd talk to Summit, or maybe check with MSD, before buying any wires.
