A heat gun will make removal of that gunk much easier. I got mine at Harbor Freight. It turns that stuff into peanut butter and makes a big difference.

I redid the wiper area last year with new silion, a small amout of undercoating and flat black paint.

I plugged those holes too. Water could get into the birdcage through there.

The wiper bay on my '80 drives me nuts... that sealer looks like it was applied with a firehose, I even picked out some assembly line rivet pins stuck in it... messy stuff.

LOL, had those too. Looked like nails, now I know! Got windshield put in, looks great. Thanks for all the tips everyone!
