C3 transmission question

Hi..newbie here. Fan of corvettes all my life, finally in position to purchase one. I like the C3 types...(really like the 1963-66, but don't have 50K$$) anyway, can a new zf 6 speed fit in a C3 type with a chevy sb 350..
I know the new ones have part of the transmission near the differential, but how about he 1983-?? 6 speeds...

This is not a bolt out/bolt in upgrade for your C3. Modifications to the crossmember,driveshaft, shifter etc. will have to be performed.
