Default Rear leaf spring confusion

I pullled this spring out of my 75:

and bought the 9 leaf spring from Corvette America to replace it with. Either Bubba installed it to lower the rear end or the bolts are for the 7 leaf. The new spring is thicker than this one, so two of the bolts aren't long enough.

There is a heavy duty 7 leaf spring listed for the 75 as well. What's the difference between the two?

Hi

Funny enough the 7 leaf spring is like mentioned heavy duty and harder ride. It was installed in BB cars . The 9 leaf spring is the softer ride.
Looking at the springs, one would think it's the opposite way around.

This is at least how I understood it.

That spring is a standard USA made two stage spring for 63-79 cars. It is 6-3 stacked 2 1/4 wide with a 10 - 1/4 arch.. it was about the best replacement spring you could buy until Triangle stopped making them.

Thanks for the info! I will get some longer bolts and install the 9 leaf spring.
