Default Clutch linkage interference with borgeson box??

I installed borgeson steering box and all of the sudden by clutch linkage is acting up. Did not mess with linkage while installing borgeson box. I suspect my linkage, possibly the z-bar and or clutch pedal push rod are bent. The attached pic shows the z-bar hitting the borgeson box. Not what was causing the binding in the linkage but will be an issue as well. I looked at a pic from someone else who had installed the borgeson box and it looks like they have about 1/2" space between steering box and z-bar. Can anyone who has installed borgeson box confirm how much clearance they have between their box and z-bar?

That looks closer than mine. Is the clutch depressed in the photo? I am home alone, so I can't press the clutch and take a photo right now. If I can get a photo of it depressed, I'll post it.

Your clutch pedal rod in the picture seems to be coming out of the firewall at an angle towards the center of the car. The other picture, without interference, shows the rod coming straight out. Was your car always a manual? Something unusual about the bracket for the z-bar where it welds to the frame? Can you post pictures of the bracket and the z-bar?

I too experienced a change needed in the geometry of my clutch linkage after installing the Borgeson box. The box sits a higher and definitiely closer to the firewall making some adjustment to your linkage necessary. You should have enough adjustment so you can take some out of the top and make it up underneath. Here is a finished pic of mine:

Very keen eye. There is a reason why my user name is Frankenvette. As I understand it from the shop that rebuilt the car, the frame was shot so they used a donor 77 automatic frame. I've never given any thought to the z-bar bracket to frame weld since I never had a clearance issue with oem steering box. It is possible that the bracket was welded to far inward but don't have an original manual vette to compare to. But as I mentioned I never had an issue with oem box.

Tomorrow I can post a close-up pic of the bracket and z-bar. Thanks.
