From what I have read they don't look good. I had cracks in my 80 dash and was going to go that way but was talked out of it. I replaced the whole dash. It was a pain to do but looks nice.

My dash is in very good shape, but I keep it covered with a dash pad (a rug) anyway. A very inexpensive solution you might want to consider. The "pad" I got fit perfect and looks great. Not sure I can give the name here, so if your interested.... pm me

I put a cover on my 78.I had taken the dash out and put the cover on. You would never know it was covered. It looks great. The only problem I had was with the front speakers so I just left them out and installed kick panel speakers. You will have to play with the glove box cover to line up with the cover.
