who ever you get it from, make sure you save your old one to cross check it. I bought one from Ecklers and put it on. The shroud was off by half an inch. Couldn't figure out why it was off by that much. I/2 inch is alot on the vette. I finally took off the rradiator support and compared it with my old one. Found out that the bottom bracket was welded 1/2 off. Doing the shroud and the radiator was a big pain.

How badly rusted is it? Evaporust will pull the rust out of the pits and leave clean metal. No, I don't work for them, but I do like their product.

I have cleaned many of my parts with it and simply prime and repaint. I usually degrease first and then dip it. Sometimes I have to use a steel brush to pull off the remaining paint.

Your call.

Yes it really needs to be replaced. It is holding your radiator in the car. My company made them for 1960-1982 corvettes.

Replace it...It honestly is not a difficult job IF you can turn a wrench...you are good to go..

Just about the only thing you an replace on a Corvette without doing the normal first step (of disassembling the entire car)

Some years had early production and late production designed radiators and supports so just make sure you order the correct design ..

Vette salvage yard here in Phx. They have lots of rust free stuff and you won't have to worry about the aftermarketalmostfitsbutdoesntreallywork formycar problems.
