Default Decoding dates on old tires, help please

I also belong to a forum dedicated to the 67, 68 and 69 Big Block full size Chevrolet. Myself along with another member need to know how to date NOS or old tires in general. He has what he thinks is a NOS 1967Firestone wide oval (I'll try to add a photo) and I have a set of used red line tires I know are 1969 or older as my father bought them off of a wrecked MOPAR for one of his project cars back in the day. We thought that the Corvette forum would be the place to find the answers, any help would very much be appreciated.

Regards

from this thread, looks like pre 71-72 there was not a required date stamp. If there is a date stamp, you are simply guessing on which decade the tire may have been created.

good luck.
