Just make sure they don't put one of the self-tapping oversized inlets in it or one of the O-Ring inlet fittings - these can destroy the float bowl casting.

I'm running a modified Q jet in my '77. NOT a stock motor, large cam, heads etc. The Q jet is really a very sophisticated carb, if set up right. There are an awful lot of super stock cars running 10's with them. Mine combines very good part-throttle response with great top end. No reason to go to the cost of switching.

He didn't break out the core charge and I didn't ask. Charged me 350.00 for the new carb (set for stock engine) and $175.00 to set it up for my engine. The old carb wasn't the original model/style for a 79 l82 vette. That said, I have another q-jet if you need a core, but I'm not sure what model it is.
