Default after winter

I just got my '77 this summer and although it's my second 70's car I want to make sure I'm not missing anything as far as yearly maintenance. So my question is, what should i make sure to do after it sits for the winter? There are the obvious things, but I'm sure I'm not I'm thinking of everything. Thanks.

How about telling us what you already are doing before and after winter?

I don't do anything special in the winter. I just change the oil in the spring, and then wake it up.

Actually you may wish to change the oil in the autumn and then just leave it alone until spring.

And DONT start it periodicity during the winter thinking you are 'getting the blood flowing'. You will never get it to proper operating temps, all it does is collect condensation in the oil and only serves to appease you eardrums by revving it.

Other than looking over all your hoses and checking for obvious signs of rodent damage, I say take it easy for the first few rides so if there are problems, they dont appear on your first WOT drive on the highway.

I store (commercially) in late October and take the car out in April. Been doing that for many years. But you are correct: do a thorough check in the spring before venturing afar. Strange things happen to cars not regularly driven, even for six months. Last April the lower rad hose clamp decided to loosen??

I park in the garage and when I'm ready to drive again, I start it and drive it, whether it's been 3 days or 5 months. Ok, I check the liquid levels if it's been sitting a long time.

The car still gets driven a couple times a month, so it's not an extreme storage, so I don't typically flush the gas in spring. In fact, my question might be more about those little things like the gas, disconnecting the battery, bleeding brakes, and flushing the coolant. Otherwise, I check hoses, fluids, clean undercarriage, and take an easy ride. Anything else in missing or other tips?

That's not 'storage' at all by any means. Just drive it.
