i am trying to figure out a realistic price for this corvette. its an 82, its got 47***(which cant be right) its got a Holly throttle body kit on it instead of the crossfire, its got a cam and so other random performance **** on it. it needs an interior but all that is easy to me.
my question is if i did do the interior and a "soft restoration" what could the car be worth? or should i try to sell as is?
Thank You
Jason

[QUOTE=Easy Mike;1581917196]I'm missing something here. If you honestly don't want the car, why fool with it?

got it from a dead uncle....... and if i can put a g into it to make 4 i feel like thats a win......if thats the case. whats the best case scenario pricing? (with some paint and seat covers)
*also i like the history channel too...but i refuse to watch a show about painting cars and whatnot...its like being at work
And yes horny toad is still around
Thanks for the comments

your going to put a thousand in it to make 4 thousand, its worth over 5 now and didnt cost you anything, why would that be small thinking, same profit either way
Jason - the 165 mph speedo is not stock, so you have no idea the actual mileage: other than getting a Carfax listing registration mileage. You also state the Xfire is gone, you don't know the cam, there's other perf **** = all unknowns to a buyer.
IF i was looking at your car, the seats gotta be fixed or i'm deducting major $$$$.
What else does/doesn't work on it ?
With the info you've provided, $5500 is right in the ballpark
you might do a little better then that with an interior referb as you suggested ..... but a whole lot more info is needed ..... what the underside look like .... rust anywhere ??? suspension /??? how old is the engine build .... tranny .... rear end ????
It looks like from your pix to be in pretty good condition (unless its been hit or something) and if all else is good you might get 8-10k ...... again .... a lot we don't know ... #justmy2cents
agreed with these folks, I used to buy and sell cars for a living, you dont make your money selling, that price is pretty much set by the market, you make your money when you buy for the lowest price, spend the least amount fixing if needed and finding a good buyer quickly. you got it for the best price, any money you spend will make it more attractive to a greater base of buyers, but it will reach a point where your time and money wont be returned . you can increase your gross price and your base of buyers, but your net profit will be offset by the amount of time and money you spend fixing and selling. you havent had folks on here, your base customers, falling over themselves wanting to buy it from you, thats a pretty good indication of a good price

thank you i didn't know about the speedo, i'm definatly going to do the seats, itll be a decent addition to the ol resume. the six way motor on the seat is not functioning. could be a fuse i havnt even started troubleshooting that yet. everything else works like a champ
on a side note: i know the headlights work on a vaccum, with that being said are they supposed to come up at the same time? how fast?
if its a prob is it an easy fix or what?

looks pretty rust free from the bottom.....as i understand it there is sort of a "cage" around the cab (i guess you would call it). when i pulled the carpet out its has very little rust if any.....any other problem spots i need to look at?
the tranny has only had its fluid changed/flushed the engine was rebuilt in 2008 and i know nothing about the rear end maintenance as far as the suspension it looks relatively factory, i can get you some pics if you think you can identify that way
my uncle is the original owner, he bought it for my aunt, apparently she drove it for x amount of years and bought her mustang then it became my uncle's. this is where the purple paint and these supposed engine upgrades that i have yet to prove came from. according to her the car has never been wrecked and i am inclined to believe because i havnt seen any other indicators
again i appreciate some of yalls feedback ill take all the knowledge i can get
Jason
oh yeah and thanks for explaining profit margin oldalaskanman....that makes alot of sense you should write a book.....seriously

OK - that was purple sprayed along the bottom 1/2: in the pic it looked black. You're gonna have a hard time finding someone who will like that "combo"....................
headlights should pop up crisply in unison, or else you've got a leak in the system
