Can the differential front flange be changed with the diff installed in the car? I replaced the differential in my 75 when it turned out to be beyond repair. I bought a diff from a 68 or 69, and much to my surprise, when trying to install the driveshaft, the front flange is a different size. So, I can get a new one from Corvette Central, but was wondering if anyone knows of any reason why it couldn't be changed without having to pull the diff back out of the car. As always, any all help is appreciated.
I may be out in left field on this (migraine) but........ I don't think you have to change the flange. They make a U-Joint that mates to your drive shaft and has a different opposite side that will mate to the differential flange.
You can do either (get the conversion U-Joint or replace the yoke).
They did make 2 different yokes (1310 and 1330 size I believe?).
I had the 1310 on my 69' and swapped it to the larger yoke when I installed a later model driveshaft.
Either way is bolt-on, just depends on what you prefer to do.
