My 77 Update - 77 Sleeper Theme

These are the pictures (some of them anyway) of the car this spring.

I sold my Orange 77 last year and have regretted it every since because it was so original and was going to be one of my "Twins" when and if I ever painted this car back to its orignal color, 66L, Corvette Orange. Well my wife finally spoke up and said "Won't you need a project car when your 71 Corvette Sparty is completed?" I said it would be nice. Then she said I should just keep the red car and have it painted like the Orange I want. I nearly fell down. So here are two pictures of the Orange 77 I had, and sold, and these will be the target for my new project called "From Red to Orange". You either like the Orange, or you don't, either way I have deciced to take Red, back to Orange. I have all new exterior emblems, a new front and rear bumper, new rear electrical wiring harness, and wheels for the car. No time like the present to get ready for a new winter project.

I believe I will have the trailer painted to match as well, might as well make it a full pumpkin patch while I am at it and get rid of that luggage rack, have never liked that look.

Any thoughts, suggestions, ideas out there???
David

Have a great week.

When I pull the trailer it holds a pop up canopy cover (10'X10'); two fold away seats; two fold away side tables; a trailer spare tire; rain gear; cleaning supplies; and room for some extra items as needed. On the front tongue there is a storage area for a cooler that is perfect for water or gatorade, not so hot for beer or soda. (Don't ask me how I know).

I am not certain I will paint it to match the car or not, but ideas on this would be welcomed too.
Thanks for asking and have a great week.

Thanks again for your thoughts on this.

Winter painting project for your buddy in West Virginia. I would like to get some Corvette Orange opinions from him, maybe buy some materials and have him shoot some samples. We can discuss emblem removal, stripping the paint, removing items before his work, replacing items, etc. Think he has room this winter?

By the way, I will be doing a respray in the near future also. Most auto paint stores will make the color you need. Look at the pic's of under my hood. It matches to a tee. Can't tell it was painted 30 plus years later. But the paint is $$. The place I went had the GM book. I just told him the code # and they asked how much I needed. If I remember correctly, it was the Hardener that cost the $$

I think most everyone here on this forum appreciates changes that are done tastefully and don't result in a Frankenvette. However even a Frankenvette has it's place.
