I live in the Northeast (New York) and it gets hot up here in the summer. So I was just out looking at a 1974 Coupe with no A/C. From what I hear Vettes are very hot cars. Is A/C a necessity or can I get away with out it. All my everyday drivers have it, so I don't know what its like to go with out.
Your the best person to answer your own question. Can you handle driving in mid-90's heat with the T-Tops off? If you can't, you can always retro-fit an A/C unit into your car. Kits are available.
what color is the interior??? I usually have the t-tops off and the a/c off most of the summer anyway. I do have black interior so I have to cover the seats or lean them forward when we are out of the car.
I think your better off to have a/c and wonder how your car would run without it than to not have a/c and wonder how much cooler and more comfotable you would be with it. I have a convertible w/o air in california and don't drive it as much as I would like 'cause of cabin heat.
A/C would be good, but I have a Trans Am with no AC but has T-tops. The interior is tan. I drive it quite a bit in the summer and our weather is the same as yours. On all but the 'hotest' days of the year, and I'm talking 98* +, I don't mind it at all. Actually, several days were over 100* this summer and I enjoyed it whenever I could and I never said to myself that it was terrible. I can also keep the tops off all day if I need to, which helps. The heat wasn't an issue because there is a lot of air movement. Even with vinyl seats. I don't mind the vinyl seats, but on really hot days, cloth or leather would make it nicer. Once I get going, it cools down instantly and isn't that big of a deal. But I like the heat too (and the cold). Some people gotta have the a/c on when it gets above 75 degrees outside and wouldn't dream of doing any outside work. Depends on the person...
