Default Holley 3955205, Is it hard to come by? (69 L-88)

Hey guys,

I need a little help here. I have an almost new Holley 3955205. I have been told it was originally for a 1969, L-88 (2nd design).

I see these things with an asking price of $1,550 to $1,000. I know cabs sell for that and more because I am looking for a carb for my 1972, 454, 4-speed car. These carbs are in the same price range.

What I need to know is if you guys know if an almost perfect 3955205, that still even has the ink numbers on the bowels is really anything rare.

If you know what they are worth, great. But I do not expect you to price it for me. I do want it to end up on the car it belongs on, as I have no use for it, but I just want to know what I have going into this.

Thanks for any input you may have. Every little bit helps and we all have to help each other out where we can.

M

If you scroll down to the 2nd or 3rd page the carburetor is listed as 2nd design L88. It also was used on other high performance Chevrolet applications. So it would be rare in the condition you are describing but today things can be made to appear that way,
