I have been having to put some pressure on the drivers side of my hood for it to latch but as of last noght, it will not latch. Everything looks right just feels like it hits something solid when I shut it and will not latch at all. Any ideas?
Oh mines an 82 so that might affect it and I don't know if mine are supposed to be bolted. I'm talking about the u-shaped piece of metal attached to the hood.
If you haven't lubricated the cable already, give it a shot of LPS1 or WD 40. Its unlikely it went out of adjustment on its own. A little bit of grease such as lubriplate does wonders on items like the latch itself.
on my car i had to push the hood release cable back in after the hood opens so it will latch when i shut it.ordered a new cable and after replacing it the latch worked fine, also lubed all the parts with spray lithium grease.
i think i bought it from zip corvette parts but try pushing yours back after the hood opens to see if that is the problem.there is a return spring on my 75 that i also changed.
