I have an 82 with a 350 without the corssfire injection. It has a 4 bbl Edelbrock 1406 and occasionally as I'm driving the engine randomly bogs and if I give it gas while it's doing this it kinda hums and doesn't go. Anyone have any ideas? I also just replaced the fuel filters and it has an electric fuel pump. Thanks!
i would check to see if your accelerator pump is shooting a good flow of gas,and check the timing and advance on the distributor.could be dirt in the carb bowls or low fuel pressure.you will have to go through a troubleshooting list and start eliminating problems one by one.if its very intermittent i would suspect dirt in fuel system.then again it could be a vacuum leak.its hard to pinpoint a problem on the web but maybe the info you get steers you in the right direction, hope you figure it out.
could be all of that and more...did you just do the intake? post pics of the engine....showing the distributor placement in the motor...then we can all take a look, get ideas
Does it have the original distributor. If so, the distributor is trying to talk to the fuel injection, which you no longer have. The computer could be confused because it isn't getting any input from the fuel injection system and therefore not allowing the correct amount of fuel to the carb. Replacing the dist. with a pre 1981 model should fix the problem.
It doesn't have the original distributor anymore and it has an external fuel pump now. I have no idea if the original pump is still in the tank or it has the sock in it. Any ways to tell?
