Need help with door lock problem!
I just purchased an 81 from a forum member. Nice car, thanks Mark! One problem it has right now is with the drivers door lock/handle. The door cannot be opened.
Something broke inside and the door won't open or unlock. He thought it was a clip up by the handle since when you push the handle down, it doesn't pop back up and again. And since it won't unlock, the inside handle won't work either. To top it off, since the door won't open, the panel can't be removed to get in there. Any ideas as to how to pop this door open without having to cut off the interior panel? I can't even say for sure what is broken inside.
Please, any ideas are appreciated.

the door panel can come off without opening it. You can even do it without removing the seat. put your window right down and take out all the screws,,,,sure you need a short screwdriver but it can be done. Then you can see whats broken .
