Default 82 CE Headlight Actuator Support Help

I'm in the middle of replacing the header bar on my 82 CE and when I stripped the old header bar out the vacuum canister came out and the canister support rod was bolted in on the bottom and the top was rusted out. From what I see of the remants it looks like there is something attached to the top of the canister rod that looks like it connects up to the center body bolt. Does anybody know what it's called and where I can get it.

On another note the Actuator support has 3 bolts that get bolted to the header bar and the two front bolts get bolted to???? Mine were already broken off so I have nothing to reference it to.

I'm not sure what you are asking?

The support.. you have pictured on top.. If the end are broken off you'll need a new one. The ends you have circled bolt to the front reinforcement. There is nothing else on the front where you have the circles.

I have two new supports but don't know what the bolts to it. My car had nothing holding up the front of the headlight supports. The other question is what bolts to the end of the vacuum support rod @ the nose under the emblem? I can't seem to locate these parts

Post a pic of what you're talking about.

...the two front bolts get bolted to?...
The metal nose bar where you have the two circles. If you look at the diagram closely, you will see it illustrated. It is riveted to back side of the front edge of the hood surround panel. Willcox has them if you need one.

The assembly instruction manual (AIM) would help you with your task. It shows the factory installation of the headlights. It does not show the installaiton of the headlight support or the nose support since these were part of the hood surround and not installed by assembly line workers.

I took a couple of pictures this morning. It looks like the vacuum support rod was bolted to a bent piece of sheetmetal and that sheetmetal was bonded to the nose and then bolted to the center body mount. Maybe

The rusted hunk at the end is part of the hood surround reinforcement where your headlights bolt up (read circles). The hoop is for the coffee can vacuum reservoir tank.

Based on what I see, you are likely to need the headlight support bar and the nose bar support.

No two ways about it, you've got a lot a work cut out for you.

Stock up on your Favorite Corvette Beverage (FCB) before you get too far along.

Good luck.
