Default 1974 body Drop Question

Body drop with the rear bumper on or off?

The rear bumper was removed when I got the car. Not sure if it can be attached before body drop???

Sure would be easier if I could install it BEFORE the body goes back on, if possible???

Bumper or bumper cover? Here's 81 production. Note the clips holding the cover open.

The actual bumper will be attached to the chassis prior to the drop. The cover (74) has no honeycomb material like the picture so I'm not 100% sure it will fit with the 74 "cover" attached.

I can figure it out. LOL I was just being lazy and thought I'd try here first.

Thanks for taking the time to post the picture.

Looks like bumper covers will be OFF during the drop.

Front and rear bumper covers need to be removed to drop the body straight on. Get a couple of pieces of 1/4" pipe, maybe 18 inches long each, to use as drop guides. Open each door, and remove the sill plates. You will see two plastic plugs on each side. Carefully remove them. One hole on each side will line up with holes drilled in the frame. Use the pipes as guide pins in those holes when you reinstall the body.
Good luck.
