Side yoke Question
Changing differentials from 3.08 to 3.70 (maybe 3.73) gears. Trying to bolt up half shafts when I found out the U bolts from my original diff won't work in the new one bought used). Side yokes on the new on are threaded and require the caps and bolts. My question is why are they different? and does the U bolt side yokes and cap and bolt type apply to different years?

You either need standard side yokes or caps for the HD yokes you have:
