If you think they will look good on your engine and or in the engine bay, then I say go for it.

I see a lot I like. I don't really want to spend 300 bucks. A lot of nice ones I like.

Make sure you use a good gasket. The imports may not have a good flat sealing surface.

Thanks guys. Are all the gaskets pretty much standard size?

I think I like these better.

Im sure they make them for big blocks, but I use the blue silicone rubber felpro gaskets on my small block. They'll run you about 50 bucks, but well worth the great seal. They're also thick, so you may need longer valve cover bolts.

How do you plan to put oil in your engine, with either set of covers? I see a hole in each cover, one for the breather and one for a PCV, but no provision for an oil cap. Are you okay with putting oil in through the breather holes, and how well will oil go in, if your using the baffles (which you should), under the breather and PCV holes?

My other concern would be do you have power brakes. Both sets are listed as being tall covers, and neither appear to have a relief in them, to clear a power brake booster.

Just 2 things to think about, before pulling the trigger on either set.

Be careful with fins that run over the edge. On my 71 LS5 air car, the alternator sits over the lip of the valve cover. No room for fins.

Thanks for your thoughts. No A/C, No power brakes. I'm not sure I have seen ant tall BBC valve covers with a provisional for an oil cap. That would of course be preferable.

I bought the same set a few months ago for my 76. You may need to slightly trim the EGR valve. They look great! Add oil through PCV grommet. No big deal. Also, recommend using loctite on bolts to keep them from loosening up. I'm very happy with mine.

I didn't mean to post this twice. Posted one last night and it did not show up, so I posted it again. Sorry. Hope the moderator can merge these. My apologies.

I like the look of the first ones best, and the price is pretty reasonable. The nice thing about aluminum valve covers is that you can use a nice, thick gasket, and apply a little more torque to the fasteners than you can with stamped sheetmetal covers.

Keep the shiny side up!

This sounds like good real-world advice. Take time to check this out before you spend money which may be a real challenge to get back if they don't work.

With that said, I like the first set you listed. If they are Chinese made, I would pass, but that's just my opinion on that situation as a whole.

Beautiful car by the way!
