Default 1976 corvette wheels

Hey everyone I am restoring a 76 for my son and I have some questions:

1. Are the original rally wheels 15 x 8 on both the front and rear?

2. Does anyone see a problem with installing a set of rally wheels on this 76 with the rear being 17 x 9 and the front being 17 x 8?

3. Last, is it difficult to change out one of the floor pans?

Thanks in advance for any advice and help!

1. Yes, both front and rears are 15x8.

2. It'll depend on your car (build quality on the C3 varies quite a bit), the wheels you choose and which tire you use. I have 17x8 AR105 Torq Thrust M +0 offset with P255/50R17 all around with no issues, though clearance on the rear between the tire and brake line is very tight.

3 .I dont have an answer, my floor pans were in pretty good shape when I last had the carpet out.

Default floor pans

The floor pans are steel in the 76 and since the cars leak sometimes the floor pans can be rusted.

I had a couple of holes in my 76 and I just fiberglassed over the holes. Earlier C3's has all fiberglass floor pans. One hole was maybe 2"by 2". I would check though to make sure your seat belt bolt mounts look good.

They make replacement steel floor pans but you need to weld them in and they are pricey I think. Unless yours are really bad, I would just fiberglass over the holes. My 2 cents!

Depends on your skill level. Replacement amounts to cutting out the rotted originals and putting in new steel replacements. The AIM shows how the originals were installed, sealed, coated, etc.

I put in a drivers floor panel and its kind of scary cutting all that out an hoping you can fit the new one in and in the right place.
I don't know if a person who doesn't have a little experience with working on stuff like that should do "1 time shot" projects like that.

Default 1976 corvette wheels and floor pans

Thank you all for the info so far.

I went ahead an ordered the larger rally rims from wheel vintiques, I'm told they should fit. However I have heard there is a bracket for the E brake cable on the back of the car that will need to probably be moved. Anyone have any idea on that?

Also, I was wondering on the floor pans if they have to be welded in or can they be pop-riveted in?
