Assumptions have to be made to answer... based on what you have..
1) If your desire is that you will use the car mostly local and to go have fun.... 454 with 4 Speed... nothing more fun to drive on the street then torque. (assuming you have the springs and everything to put in BB and manual)

2) If you desire to road tripping... SB and 700R4.

3) If you desire to roam the local streets and road trip with an attitude ... BB with 4 speed and GV overdrive...

Depends... I have owned several Big Blocks and of course several small blocks.. ALL however had Manuel transmissions...

IF I had my choice I'd rather have a high riving LT-1 SB just a lot more fun powering thru turns

So 454 4sp it will be .
Now to start collecting the bits and pieces needed
Got the engine and trans the two most expencive parts
