Default Need a killer silver

So I have been all over the map on my color choice. I was going to go the C6 Lemans blue and do some stripes to tie in the red interior but I have scapped that idea.

I want to go classic on my 82. Forget about all those crazy stripes and stuff.

I have decided that the Corvette I fell in love with when I was 18 years old was the 78 Anniversary. That is why I have always wanted a C3 and it took me 26 years to get one.

I am looking for a nice Silver to go over a nice Charcoal. I do not want a Silver with a green tone to it. So which silvers do not have the green to them?

I see that they used the same silver in 78,79,80, 81 then changed it in 82. Any insight on this?

What about Silver Mist? Cortez Silver? Inca Silver? Nevada Silver?

Any help would be appreciated.

This is the look I am going for:

All paint through the 1981 models at St. Louis was acrylic lacquer. All paint at Bowling Green was acrylic enamel with clear coat.

...This is the look I am going for...
Order 78 Silver Anniversary paint.

Don't tell me about silver! That's what I wanted, but my wife and my painter would not hear of it. They demanded black. What are ya gonna do? $8K later I have beautiful black. But no silver...

I am thinking of going from this:

To This:1967 Silver Pearl

Or 1963 Sebring Silver

Over This: Ford Mineral Gray

Just ned to figure out how to photoshop these colors on my car above to see how they look on it... Anybody Know how?

You say you don't want a silver with a green tint to it (e.g. Steel Cities), but the pic you posted has a definite blue tint. Is that what you're going for?

If you're looking for a "pure" silver, then check out Galaxy Silver. Which GM used on C5's and other cars of that era. It has very little secondary tinting.

Never been a fan of the two-tone paint jobs (just personal preference), but MAN silver looks awesome with red interior.

Thank You Maxco, that is exactly it. Beautiful!!! My painter went and got the 78 paint, and shot the door jams today. Looks good already. Can't wait for it to be done.

House of Kolor paints are stunning.

Check out the "Orion Silver" and "Black Diamond Fine". That would be a fantastic two-tone and as a bonus, Black Diamond Fine uses Orion Silver as a base. Shoot the whole car in Orion Silver and then two-tone it.

This is from the PPG Ferrari catalog.

Body is 704C Grigio Titanio Metallic, 37032. This is titanium with a blue cast to it.

The stripe is 703C.97 Canna Di Fucile, 37217. This is gun metal with a greenish cast.

When I pull up next to/by other silver and/or grey Corvettes, regardless of year, at car shows, etc., they look drab by comparison. (Sorry guys.)

Many on the C1-C2 Forum have copied this/these colors and all have been delighted.
