window glass
on a c3 does the door glass size vary year to year. the drivers door on my 78 has been changed at some point and the glass doesent seem to fit right.
When its up it fills the space up completly front to back windshield to door jam past the weather stripping

No, but coupe and convertible glasses are different and cannot be interchanged. 80-82 glasses are thinner than previous years and weigh a little less.
Sounds like the door glass needs to be fitted. The AIM has a page explaining the adjustment settings and procedures.
Door glass adjustment is piddly business. Take your time.
