Default C3 4 Speed mounting Bracket for 69?

I have a 1969 Convertible that I am restoring to original. It currently has a Hurst Competition Plus shifter in it.

I purchased an original 4 speed shifter with mounting bracket and rods that supposedly came out of a 1969. When I looked at the mounting bracket, I noticed 2 3/8 inch mounting holes that would attach the mounting bracket to the back side of the cross member.

When I looked at my cross member, I found that there are 2 5/16 inch tapped holes for mounting the back side of the bracket.

Did the original 1969 Shifter bracket come with 5/16 diameter holes?

I know that I can use washers to hold it in place, but it looks like the shifter bracket will take some effort to install, I thought that I would check this out prior to starting.

Did late years eliminate the tapped holes and just use 3/8 bolts?

Just curious?

Thanks

1968 through 1979 used the same bracket. How sure are you about what year it came from?

I'm pretty sure my aft two holes are threaded in the cross member but still have nuts on them anyway. Not sure the exact size but they are smaller than the rest of the other mounting bolts.
