Alternator Bracket
Does anyone make a nicer alternator bracket than the old universal one with the big curved piece. I want something nice and clean looking with the adjustable rod ends for belt adjustment.

Do you run headers? Header Power Brackets makes an assortment of beautiful pieces to work on either side of the engine.

I like that bracket but what does it use for a belt tensioner? I really want to get rid of that big curved tensioner and go with something nicer.

You still use the F-bracket so you do need a tensioner. You can use a rod with spherical ends, like you see on the aluminum aftermarket bracket, but would need a small piece of aluminum to clear the alternator. (Hmmm, new product idea for use with my new machine!)
Or you can use two of the curved tensioners and make it look unique while really firming things up. Just takes a few chrome bolts and three 1/2" wide aluminum spacers spun in the drill against some compound for a nice polish.

I think you're looking for something like this:
Can still use the bottom bracket also. Made these up last summer when my upper bracket broke.

After looking again it seems this bracket only fits through '68.

You can buy those brackets at Jegs. Tension bar is not cheap, but looks good on mine! The lower bracket may not fit your heads, but I just painted mine up a gloss black and it is good to go.

Has anyone tried this, preferably for a small block?
