Default rear bumper cover

Are their any big fitment issues with the aftermarket 1982 style rear bumpers? And who has the best ones. It is going on a 1975.

I have one on my 75, the fit was not an issue, Willcox has the good flexible fiberglass type.

I have an original 82 bumper cover that I am not using. I had it sanded and painted and now hangs up in the garage. I am willing to sell it at a very reasonable price, but am reluctant to try and ship it because of the hassle and, I am guessing, expense. However, maybe we can work something out. No issues with the bumper. PM me if interested.

I've been trying to document original bumper cover fitment for the last few years and start putting them in a file for posting. As compared to this factory installed bumper I'd say I hope they fit better than factory...

Thought I would share this one picture with you all. (so you'll see what is coming in the future).

Why you might ask! as these cars age more and more they are modified to look better than when new. It is very common to purchase a reproduction flexy cover and not have it fit perfectly on your car. If the prior bumper cover has been filled or fitted to the body, matching one up perfectly is next to impossible. We even see the urethane covers in our shop with filler in them from a prior repair or paint job. I suppose my goal is to possibly preserve some of these pictures so that twenty more years from now we'll have something to remember.. but is also gives us something to show the customers that disillusioned about how nicely the original covers fit.

This car is a 25k mile car that has never been hit. It has never been changed nor has it been altered since day one. It's just something to chew on I suppose. I have tons of these pictured with varying results anywhere from 1/8" to 1/4" on the front and usually the backs will get a bit better. Some back bumpers have been photoed at 1/8" +/- on either side or both.
